Today we left the Lübeck area and headed straight for Puttgarden to catch the ferry to Denmark.
Sometimes everything just falls perfectly into place. As soon as we arrived at the harbor, the ferry was already there waiting. We bought our tickets, rode onboard, and shortly afterwards we were crossing the Baltic Sea. About 40 minutes later, we arrived in Denmark and continued our journey north.
Instead of spending the entire day on the motorway, we followed smaller country roads through Denmark towards Copenhagen. It is a much more enjoyable way to travel and allows you to see far more of the country.
Along the way, we encountered an unexpected surprise. Due to a bridge closure, we had to take a tiny local ferry. What initially looked like a small detour quickly turned into one of the highlights of the day. These unplanned moments are often what make a motorcycle trip memorable.
Another highlight soon followed: the famous Öresund Bridge connecting Denmark and Sweden.
Crossing this impressive structure for the first time is a special experience. Its enormous size only becomes apparent when you are actually riding across it. It was also surprisingly windy up there. Unfortunately, stopping for photos is not allowed, but we managed to capture some video footage during the crossing.
After entering Sweden, we continued a little farther north before starting to look for a place to spend the night.
By the end of the day, we had covered 422 kilometers and spent more than eight hours in the saddle. Thanks to the pleasant roads, the ferry crossings, and the many impressions along the way, the time passed surprisingly quickly.
Thankfully, we have the NorCamp app with us on this trip. Using the app, we found a beautiful apartment on a farm near Hörby. A peaceful location surrounded by nature and exactly what we needed after another long day on the motorcycles.
Tomorrow we continue our journey further north.
Sweden has given us a warm welcome, and so far we are enjoying every kilometer.
