Today we rode through Linz and passed south of Vienna, continuing all the way to Hungary – a good 400 kilometers in total. We ended the day in Pannonhalma, where we found a nice hotel: the Pannon Panzió.
During breakfast this morning, there was a light drizzle, but just in time for our departure, everything had dried up. Once again, we managed to avoid the rain – and were greeted instead with blazing sun and temperatures close to 30°C in Hungary.
The country roads here are in pretty bad shape. From a distance, we probably looked like two kangaroos bouncing down the road – the potholes had us flying off our seats more than once, whether we liked it or not.
As I’m writing this blog post, Matthias is out getting food and drinks for tomorrow’s ride. It’s Sunday tomorrow, and there’s a good chance the supermarkets will be closed.
Next stop: further east. Let’s see what the road brings.
