Today we went straight into the Carpathians – and from that moment on, it was all about the ride: curve after curve, up and down, right and left, nonstop. We passed through areas where other bikers had clearly gathered to enjoy these same roads – and for good reason.
The best part? Hardly any traffic. Most of the time, we had the road entirely to ourselves. The surroundings were stunning: mountains, forests, cliffs, lakes – scenery straight out of a movie.
Even though we were deep in bear territory again, we didn’t see a single one today. And honestly? That’s fine. We’ve had our bear moment already!
After around 300 kilometers, we reached tonight’s stop – and it’s truly special: a remote cabin in the woods, far from any road or town, completely surrounded by nature. It’s the kind of place where even the fox says goodnight.
Matthias is just finishing up a pot of spaghetti – simple food, but exactly what we need after a day like this. A quiet evening in the forest to wind things down.
Tomorrow we head south, leaving the twisties behind and riding into flatter, calmer terrain.
